12/14/08 After a summer that averaged unseasonably cool, we near the end of autumn. But "Gaia" apparently can't read a calendar. Some of that ice is more than an inch thick.
Update: When that picture was taken, we'd had less than four feet of snowfall, but were still above the average for January. By the end of winter, we'd gotten well over ten feet, and people were getting very cranky. If I recall correctly, the state broke a snowfall record that had stood for more than a century.
